Chris
Cline, or The Butcher at the Three Ring camp, got his start
in the music industry back in the 90's. Having been a musician
for most of his life, he opted for the recording school route
instead of that of a classically trained musician.
Shortly after graduating from school, he returned to Austin,
TX and soon found work as the chief engineer at one of Austin's
leading studios. It was here that Chris cut his teeth working
with bands that include but are not limited to, ...And You
Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Mentallo and the Fixer,
The Swells, employer/employee, Deadwood Forest, Drums and
Tuba, and many others.
After
having spent some time in Texas, he decided it was time for
a change and moved to San Francsico. It was here that he
met founder Dan Crowell while perusing Craigslist. This
led to the mastering of TRR's first release, the Bother's
"The Night Bleeds Gold." It was after this first
release that Dan really started pressing on with the label
and
asked Chris to join as a partner. Since then Chris has
mastered a majority of the releases on Three Ring and has
played an integral role in the ever expanding roster. He
has also lent a hand (and ears) to producing and remixing
the Three Ring bands elephone and the Lonelyhearts.
As
a musician, Chris has played in both the studio and live
arenas with a wide array of bands and artists. Projects
that he has been involved with as a drummer include, but
are not limited too: Scrabbel (Three Ring), IV
Thieves (New West/One LIttle Indian), We Is Shore Dedicated
(Huevo Imaginary), D.W, Holiday (Three Ring), Seventeen
Evergreen (Pacific Radio Fire/Lucky Number U.K.), Mentallo
and the Fixer (Metropolis Records), mranmrsmays (unsigned,
but getting ready to pop any moment!), and ASP (Three Ring).
He is also available for studio work and pick up gigs should
somebody need a couple of hands!
As
musicians, we
are interested in many genres of music. We will eventually
be looking for bands that range anywhere from rock, to experimental
/ instrumental, to folk / acoustic, to hip-hop. We embrace
diversity and welcome musicians and bands from all backgrounds. We
are also very interested in working with other record labels
for splits, compilations, etc.
If you would like to submit a demo or
perhaps discuss the possibility of a release, compilation,
or split, then please contact The

Please be patient while we review your demo, and do not be
discouraged if we decide not to release something for your
band – we are a small label and as such, funding is
very limited. |
